

Do I need a smart device to play with I Que?
Yes and No. In order to play with I Que's complete play capabilities, it's required that you have a smart device with Bluetooth compatibility with either Apple IOS or Android operating systems. This will unlock I Que's full play potential. A phone or tablet will work with I Que which will connect him by voice recognition to the internet. There he can find some amazing knowledge of the world. However, even without a smart device, you can do some fun things with I Que. Some of these are making him play sound effects, light up, and say from simple phrases.
Do I need an internet connection to play with him?
Yes and No. Some functions, such as searching for information on the internet (famous people, places, time, weather, etc.), and voice recognition require an internet connection. But much of the interaction between the child and the robot can be done OFFLINE including having simple conversations back and forth, playing games, doing brain teasers, and program him to talk or move. In fact, most of the interactive play with the robot requires no internet connection at all.
What is the maximum distance I Que can work from the smart device?
This depends on many factors but a good rule of thumb is 30 feet or 10 meters.
Does the App use a lot of my smart device's power?
No, not really. Unlike other Bluetooth streaming devices that send a lot of data, I Que's App sends back very little. So, the power consumption is much lower than other Bluetooth devices.
If I run I Que's App on my phone, do I have to give the phone to my child?
No. I Que's software runs in the background like any other App you are using. You can use your phone and have I Que's App work at the same time. Once you turn on the App, the child can play with the robot without needing the phone or tablet again.
Is I Que a “search engine”?
No. I Que only looks at some things on the internet. Also, to keep him Child Safe, he has some very strong filters which block many words and subjects. He does not know “everything” but he does not quite a lot. I Que does not work with any existing search engine you might use to find or buy things on the internet. Consequently, no “data mining” occurs of what has been asked of him.
Can I program I Que?
Yes. Using the App you can program I Que to say have statements you make up yourself. You can also change his voice and program him to walk in patterns of your choosing.
Can I run I Que's App and another App at the same time?
Yes, if your operating system allows you to run two Apps simultaneously. I Que's App works no differently than any other App you would have on your smart device.
Does I Que run on batteries? What type and how long do they last?
Yes, I Que runs on 4 AA type batteries which are easily installed in his feet. The electronics are low power and will last for several hours of play.
Is I Que difficult to set up?
It’s very easy to set him up in a few minutes. The software automatically sends a signal to your smart device when you turn it on. The first time you turn it on, you will need to choose it in the Bluetooth section of your settings and select it. It's no different than using any other Bluetooth device.
Does I Que speak different languages?
In some countries, you can download Apps to let him speak in different languages. Simply close out one App in one language and open a new App speaking another.
How good is the voice recognition?
It’s as good as Apple’s voice recognition software, because it’s what is being used. The question asked to I Que is picked up in him microphone and sent in real time over the internet to a server in “the cloud”. There it is transcribed into text, and then sent back to I Que’s App to be used to answer the question. All this happens in less than one second (depending on the speed of your internet service). Both operating systems have the best voice recognition capability in the world-- and in many languages with many different dialects and accents.
If I Que works on the internet, how do I know my child is safe?
I Que's software system, called Violet, checks for any offensive or sensitive words and checks against a blocked word list before responding. In addition, no website links or images ever appear on the tablet or phone, and no "data mining" or the storage of any personal information occurs. Lastly, any word or phrase anyone feels they want to add can be added manually to the blocked word list and I Que will never discuss them or spell them.
Can I change the voice of the robot?
Yes. There is a section in the App where you can change his voice to several other characters. Chose the one you like best.
Can the App work without the I Que robot?
No. The App only works when the I Que robot is connected by Bluetooth to the smart device.
How many things can he talk about?
There are many kinds of things I Que will talk about. For example, I Que can be asked questions about himself ("Tell me about yourself") or personal questions ("What's your favorite movie?"). In addition, you can ask him virtually any math question ("What's 22 times 47"?) any question about people, places, and things ("Where is the Eiffel Tower?"), spelling, and the weather. The list is almost endless.
Is I Que motorized and articulated? Can he walk?
Yes. I Que has motors that move his waist and his “thinking cap” on top of his head. Using the App, you can make him walk forward, left, and right. He can even “dance” to music you play through him from your smart device.
Can I play games with him?
Yes. I Que's App comes with different games that the child can play either with I Que or against I Que. More games will be added over time.
If I am on a cellular network and not Wi Fi, how much data does he use in an hour?
This depends greatly on how many times he looks for information on line. However, as the information is mainly text and not graphics, audio, or movies, the amount is generally very small. Still, it is recommended that if you use I Que's App you should either have an unlimited Data plan or be on Wi Fi to avoid unnecessary additional charges to your phone bill.
Can I adjust his volume?
Yes. In the App there a page to adjust not only him volume but how "chatty" he is. If you want him to talk lower or want him to talk less, you can easily adjust it.
Can he recognize my voice from someone else when I talk to him?
No, at the present I Que cannot recognize different voices from one another. He will recognize what you say but not identify you.
Does he have an On/Off switch?
Yes. I Que has an on/off switch on him back. Also, you can use the App to stop him program at any time. And, if left alone too long, the App will close itself.
Where do I get the App?
You can get it either on ITunes App store or Google Play like any other App. Search for “I Que intelligent robot”
Is there any charge for the App?
There is no charge for the App of the primary language in your area. Other additional languages may have a small charge. Check with the App store of your device and you’ll be able to see what’s available.
Are there any monthly services or charges to play with I Que?
No. Just download the App and you will be able to use him without any further charges.
How far away can I be to talk to I Que?
The best distance would be close enough to hold the robot or be next to him. Normally, that's about 1-2 feet (25-40 cm). But, if you talk louder and clearly, it can be several feet or over a meter. It’s important to speak to I Que like you would another human being. That is, speak as if you wanted someone else in the room to hear what you have to say.
Does the room have to be completely silent?
No. I Que's Violet software can filter out a lot of background noise such as other people talking in the background, air conditioning, TV programs, and other minor noises.
What if someone says a swear or inappropriate word at him?
I Que's Violet software blocks out hundreds of words which are not meant for a child's ear. I Que will simply not respond or answer any question with this type of input.
Does I Que ever have "a bad day"?
No. I Que is always a funny and friendly robot to talk to who loves to laugh and make jokes. He will brighten anyone's day -- like seeing any good friend would.
Does I Que's App support Windows phones, tablets, or computers?
Not at the present time. I Que’s App will work on most any hardware that uses the latest Android or Apple iOS operating system and has Bluetooth communication.
What does the red light in his big “eye” do?
It helps you to know when to talk and when to listen. When the “Eye” lights up, that means it's the time to talk to him. When it's dark, that means you should wait and listen for I Que to say something.
What do I do if the red light won't light up?

What is the actual Robot like?
I Que is like any other action figure in that he is fully articulated. He can stand on him own feet or be posed to sit. The blue LED’s around his eyes light up in patterns showing his emotional state of the time. His battery compartments are located in his feet.
Can I bathe him or take him into the tub or pool?
No. Like any electronic toy, I Que cannot be taken into the bath or dunked in water or the electronics will be damaged. Please keep him away from all liquids.
